Inference of Surface is a work on the meaning of seeing. The visible spectrum and the rectangle represent two extremes, both a perceptual limit of the human eye moving within a field. The lengths of the ripples of the various light rays mark the delimited space between the device and the outside.

“Propagation and Detection” is a work that investigates the space of an immaterial point. Dissecting an image of the Parthenon and revealing what is hiding in the invisible field, within the mechanical device, amidst the the wave propagation. The visible represents exactly a point, the concrete limit of a distance, which is perceived by human eyes; a recognisable sign that changes into something else, matter changing into an imprint.

ἐκπύρωσις, ekpýrosis, “out of the fire”, in Greek philosophy is the universal conflagration or “great fire and end of the world”.
In order to remove the historical aspect of the images, I tried to rethink of them as electrical images. Soldiers move around the fire, some people move in a place immersed by light, like the body of a man moving through electrical spasms. The fire that destroys and the fire that generates new form through light, which is revealed and becomes an icon in the same way the image becomes coloured, when it manifests through the red colour of the flames, after the white and black of the documentation, of the historicization of the image. The question I started with is how the weight of the images can still be felt, as now, in a surplus of images, we can still see. In the end, the electroshock seems to be a cancellation of the contaminated look, an iconoclastic action.

The work displays light sources acting in a nocturnal forest; the light shakes the branches and fragments of a sculpture laid on the ground. To achieve it, I began from a static shot, slowly going towards a fragmentation of the image itself through the light’s game. My main interest is on the latency created by the movement of the light, the moments ruled by shadow, when everything is invisible.

Ippocampo is a work that was born as a reportage on the destruction of a personal archive. In the beginning I just wanted to film an action, and then I got other images. What you see in the video, at the beginning, is the time when part of this analog material (35mm, VHS, audio tapes) is burned. Removing the material part of these images means releasing them, freeing them from the tangible.
